In an effort to stay connected with all of you and inform you of things happening at JPT I am starting this monthly newsletter/blog. My goal for this mailing is to mimic my board posts I used to have in my office as well as letting you know about any changes, happenings, etc at JPT and the Hybrid Community.
I thought I would start this first post by answering a question I have been asked frequently through out my career; what exactly do you do Jess? 🙂
My best answer is that I use a mix of techniques and theories I have learned over the course of my schooling and career. Some of these include; traditional massage techniques, myofascial release, positional release, therapeutic exercise, trigger point release, traditional physical therapy techniques such as range of motion and joint mobilizations and craniosacral therapy. Many of you are familiar with a lot of these treatments, however, craniosacral therapy can often be not understood or misunderstood. So, here is a little more information about this technique specifically.
The gentle techniques of Craniosacral Therapy assist the body to resolve these “resistance patterns” in the fascia and re-establish the natural flow or rhythm within the body.
Craniosacral Therapy is client-focused. The client’s individual needs and response to treatment determine the pace of each session. Since it is client-focused and each session is unique Craniosacral Therapy is a suitable treatment for individuals of all ages from babies and young children to the elderly. It can alleviate a wide array of pain and illnesses including:
Migraines & Headaches
Stress & Tension Related Problems
Neck & Back Dysfunction
Craniosacral therapy can also be a preventive and general healing treatment offering stress relief and an overall sense of well being, even if you have no specific physical concerns. Email Dr. Jess or call 603-766-8220 to find out more and schedule a session today.
